USING YOUR ST-2401 STEREO LIGHTNING CONTROLLER

Test your ST-2401 before making any connections: Plug the power cord into a properly grounded AC outlet. Both yellow lights should come on. Unplug the ST-2401. Both yellow lights should go off.

(Your ST-2401 does not have an “on-off” switch; it is always on when it is plugged in. Remember to unplug it when you are not using it.)

1. Turn the LEVEL knob all the way to the left (counter-clockwise).

2. Connect your stereo sound source and other audio equipment using the jacks on the back of the ST-2401. The red jacks and black jacks are each separate channels. See the drawing on the back of this page.

3. Plug the ST-2401’s power cord into the properly grounded AC outlet. The yellow lights will come on.

4. Connect the lamp circuits that will provide your “lightning” by plugging them into the AC outlets on the back of your ST-2401. The yellow lights will go off.

(You can use a grounded outlet strip and extension cords. Be sure that the total wattage of all the lights you connect does not add up to more than 2400 watts or more than 1200 watts on either channel. The ST-2401 does not work with fluorescent lights and is not recommended for strobe lights.)

5. Turn on your audio equipment and start playing your “thunder” CD. Adjust the volume on your equipment so that the thunder sounds are as loud as you want them to be.

6. Slowly turn the LEVEL knob to the right (clockwise) until you see “lightning” flashes coming from the lamps you have connected. The yellow lights will flash along with the “lightning”. Adjust the LEVEL until the loudest thunder makes the brightest flashes.

(Turning the LEVEL higher will make the brightest flashes last longer, but turning it too high will not give you realistic “lightning”.)

Very important: If you have to replace the fuse, use only a 20-amp “fast-blow” type. Do not use a “slow-blow” fuse or a fuse rated at more than 20 amps!
